A note from us
Sameh and Laila, together with Adel and Mervat, request the pleasure of your company at the marriage of their children.
We met in a stairwell in Alexandria during a power cut, and we have been arguing about whose fault it was ever since.

How we got here
November 2019
A power cut on the fourth floor
The lift stopped between floors with the two of us in it. Forty minutes. Kareem still says he was calm.
January 2021
The winter sea
Habiba swims in December. Kareem watched from the corniche for two years before he got in, and he has not stopped since.
May 2026
A ring bought in Attarine
It took four visits and a great deal of unnecessary haggling. The man knew what was happening by the second one.
