A note from us
Tarek and Amal, together with Nabil and Hoda, request the pleasure of your company at the marriage of their children.
We are getting married by the water, four hours from everybody, which we are reliably told is inconsiderate.
We think you will forgive us by the second evening.

How we got here
June 2022
A borrowed diving mask
Selim lent it to a stranger on the jetty. Farida gave it back three days later, having used it every morning.
2023 — 2026
The long drive, monthly
Cairo to the coast and back, once a month, for three years. We know every petrol station on that road by name.
October 2026
A question at low tide
He had rehearsed it for a week. He got two words out and she said yes to the wrong sentence.
