Nine years, eleven months, and a bit
Ten Years
I made you something instead of buying you something.

You once said that anniversaries are just a way of noticing that time has passed, which is very like you and also not wrong.
So this is me noticing. Properly, and in writing, for once.
Ten things, roughly in order

Year one
The flat with the broken window
We put a cushion in it for four months and called it a feature.

Year four
The drive you did not want to take
Eleven hours. You were right about the route and I have never conceded it until now.
Year seven
The year everything was difficult
I do not have a funny line for this one. You were extraordinary and I am not sure I said so at the time.
Evidence
Until dinner, which I have already booked

Happy anniversary
Same table. Eight o’clock. Wear the green one.
